Meeting at EIT RawMaterials Regional Innovation Centre, Albania with representatives from the World Bank Group

On February 12, 2025, at the EIT RawMaterials Regional Innovation Centre in Albania, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from the World Bank Group, Mrs. Nina Inamahoro, Mr. Remi Pelon, and Dr. Wolfhart Pohl.
Dr. Ledi Moisiu, the centre’s director, provided a brief presentation on the mission and objectives of the centre, emphasizing the crucial role of the mining sector, especially Critical Raw Materials (CRM), in driving economic growth and sustainability.
Prof. Përparim Alikaj highlighted the importance of airborne geophysical surveys for a comprehensive mapping of Albania’s surface and subsurface, underlining their potential for resource assessment and sustainable development.
The World Bank Group representatives introduced financing instruments for regional studies and shared successful case studies where the World Bank has played a key role in supporting geology, digitalization, and the green transition.
After the meeting at the centre’s offices, the World Bank delegation visited @Albchrome to witness firsthand sustainable investments in Albania’s mining sector.
